Souleater Egg- This egg appears to be made of bone. Hatchling- Newborn Souleaters lack the luminous fur of their adult counterparts, and their bumpy, sand-colored skin is highly sensitive to light. Hatchlings spend most of their time asleep in dark places, but become stronger as they age and start to toddle around the halls and walls of the Keep. Many a magi has found their lost Souleater hatchling clinging to the ceiling after spending hours searching. Adult- Fully grown Souleaters can reach up to thirteen feet in length, with most of their body length being composed of their long, fluffy tails. Adults are covered in soft, pale blue fur that can glow in the dark at a creature’s will. Despite their luminescent pelts, Souleaters can be masters of stealth whenever they wish. Their fur doubles as a built-in invisibility cloak, allowing them to hide themselves from either ghostly prey or an upset magi ready to scold them for chewing on their robes. General- As their name suggests, Souleaters are ethereal creatures which feed solely off of bones and ectoplasm. A common companion among ghost hunters, Souleaters are capable of sensing beings invisible to the human eye, and can climb walls and ceilings in pursuit of prey. Despite their ferocity and dedication to the hunt, these creatures act very much like large dogs and are very friendly and affectionate towards the living. Hatchling- The hatchling that emerged from this egg looks like any other bird, if one ignores the long ears and thin, grasping tail. Your Rafkas seems bent on biting whatever humans it can get its beak on and feeding on their blood like a grim hummingbird. You decide to lock it up in a birdcage for the safety of yourself and others, and willingly sacrifice a bit of your own blood for its daily meal. Adult- Mature Rafkas are twice the size of any common sparrow, with midnight purple plumage and two pairs of wings. Their bony beaks are sharp enough to easily cut through flesh, and their long, thin tongues aid in draining the souls of whatever unlucky human they catch. Despite their abundance of appendages, Rafkas can easily blend into the shadows of the night. Magis who wander into a dark mage’s territory must be wary of their surroundings, lest a Rafkas be on the loose. General- Rafkas are small yet incredibly dangerous creatures. They feed solely off of live human souls, flesh, and blood, causing them to be very difficult to care for. Only the most villainous of dark magi are willing to create and care for them, and a flock of Rafkas are capable of eliminating entire human armies. They are swift, silent attackers, and must be contained at all times lest they go on a feeding frenzy. Hatchling- Young Gahuts are incredibly curious creatures, and will follow their magi wherever they go, weaving around their ankles and never leaving their side. They are very observant little things, and often end up mirroring their magi’s personality. However, no matter how grouchy and cold a magi may be, their Gahut companion will always find a way to make them smile. Adult- Upon the backs of every Gahut are a pair of leathery wings, each one’s pattern and colors unique to the individual. These wings do not reach their full splendor until adulthood, and their growth marks a creature reaching maturity. Even as adults, Gahuts follow their magis around everywhere, and seem to always know where their human companions are. General- According to legend, Gahuts are the reincarnations of dearly departed house cats returning to the mortal world. They radiate peaceful energy through their soft coats, and have the ability to calm those who pet them. Gahuts are quite similar to their winged feline cousins, and have similar intelligence and behavior. However, Gahuts tend to form closer relationships with their magi. They will follow and wordlessly support them wherever they go, and make lifelong companions. Hatchling- The egg you plucked from the stream has hatched into what appears to be a rabbit-sized fox. It enjoys frolicking through the fallen leaves of the forest. You often lose the little creature under piles of leaves, which its scaly skin blends right into. It seems that your creature has taken a liking to a family of bunnies living in a tree, and often sneaks out to spend time with them.Adult- Myukani are quite odd in appearance; their bodies resemble those of red-furred foxes, only instead of fur, each one is covered in snakelike scales. They have fiery eyes, golden wings, and long, rabbit-like ears, and their heads are crowned with thin feathers and straight, pointed horns. When the fall season comes, they emerge from the forest, dressing themselves in straw robes and taking on a more bipedal form so that they may join humans in their festivities.General- Benevolent beasts with a love of autumn, the Myukani are fascinating creatures that only appear in fall when the leaves turn as orange as their scaled bodies. They can be quite shy, usually only seen during fall, but love to dance and celebrate with humans during fall festivals. Not only do they love the company of humans, Myukani seem to have a close, almost familial relationship with common rabbits, often protecting rabbit families from foxes and other predators.NotesObtained from: Limited; periodically floods stream during the fall seasonBreeding: YesRenaming cost: 2000 goldBreeds with the following:Myukani + Myukani = Myukani HippoceratusEgg- Three razor-sharp horns are sticking out of this glassy egg. Hatchling- The hatching of a Hippoceratus can be a dangerous process, so one needs to take necessary precautions to avoid injury. When an egg hatches, the shell bursts into glasslike shards which go in all directions and can effectively spear an unwary magi. Once that’s over and done with, the raising of the actual hatchling tends to go a little more smoothly. Young Hippocerati are very active creatures, and are difficult to contain. Despite this, they are much less feisty than adults, and it is definitely possible to tame them with enough patience.Adult- A fully-grown Hippoceratus is a sight to behold. Each one stands significantly taller than the average horse, and their feathered wings, triad of horns, and long, wiry tails create an imposing silhouette. Commonly, a Hippoceratus’ pelt is dark and studded with white star-like speckles, but on occasion a light-pelted specimen may appear. Their regal appearance can be deceiving at times; despite their beauty, Hippocerati are still volatile creatures, and will attack anyone who approaches them that they do not trust.General- Hippocerati are tricky creatures, some parts equine, some parts monstrous. Without raising one from an egg, it’s nearly impossible to capture and keep one. Despite their beastly temper and wildness, they are quite clever as well, with some even attempting to escape any enclosure they are kept in- and often succeeding. Their delicate-looking fingers are exceptional for picking locks and clawing the eyes out of any who dares restrain them, while their trio of deadly sharp horns can keep any opponent at bay.NotesObtained from: Stream (rare)Breeding: YesRenaming cost: 2000 goldBreeds with the following:Hippoceratus + Hippoceratus = HippoceratusHippoceratus + Hippoceratus = Pale Hippoceratus*Hippoceratus + Pale Hippoceratus = HippoceratusHippoceratus + Pale Hippoceratus = Pale Hippoceratus**description is identical to standard Hippoceratus SurgicanthEgg- Your hands feel numb after touching this small egg. Hatchling- Upon hatching, Surgicanths immediately need to feed; their first meal usually comes from whatever unfortunate creature happens upon- and is cut by- their shattered eggshells. A magi must take care to wear gloves when aiding the hatching process, lest their new creature’s first meal comes from their veins. Adult- A Surgicanth raised in captivity doesn’t have as much of a ravenous taste for blood as a wild one, but no matter how tame one seems it will always be on the lookout for a new host to feed from. When lounging about on a magi’s shoulder or arm, they often use their scalpel-esque tails to create small cuts to feed from. The scars they create are a sure indicator that a magi owns a Surgicanth.General- Despite their small size, Surgicanths can pose quite a bit of danger to humans and animals alike. One of the few creatures that feed primarily off of blood, Surgicanths use their needle-sharp snouts to pierce their prey and drink blood directly from their veins. Their bodies are covered in a substance that can temporarily numb the skin of any being it touches. The effect wears off after a few hours, but allows just enough time for a Surgicanth to feed. While mostly harmless when in contact with skin, if some of this substance enters a creature or human’s bloodstream while the Surgicanth feeds, it can paralyze body parts for nearly a day or more.NotesObtained from: Event, HalloweenBreeding: NoRenaming cost: 2000 gold Etainian StormcatEgg- This egg is covered in soft, scale-like protrusions. Hatchling- When they first hatch, Stormcat kittens have smooth black coats. As they age, the dust and sand of their environment becomes naturally drawn and stuck to their fur, creating the layers of “scales” the creatures are known for.Adult- Despite looking almost like an ordinary housecat, Stormcats are quite the unique creatures. Round and heavy-set as they may be, Stormcats are deceptively quick, and can dash long distances without resting for miles. Their scaly backs are composed of sand tangled in their fur and hardened by lightning into hard armor. Not only can the scales defend the cats from attackers, they store electricity which can be discharged at will.General- When traversing the Etain Desert, a traveler would be lucky to catch a fleeting glimpse of these creatures. Etainian Stormcats are very skittish and shy, preferring to stay hidden in caves and burrows. They sleep for most of their days, only coming out in the evening to hunt and find a new place to stay. While a singular Stormcat poses no threat, they often travel in groups of up to fifteen; when running in large numbers, the wind combined with the static stored in their scales can cause dust storms and even tornadoes.NotesObtained from: QuestBreeding: YesRenaming cost: 2000 goldBreeds with the following:Etainian Stormcat + Etainian Stormcat = Etainian StormcatEtainian Stormcat + White Winged Cat = FelistratusEtainian Stormcat + Black Winged Cat = FelinimbusFelinimbus/FelistratusEgg- A layer of clouds covers this egg. Hatchling- Felinimbus/Felistratus kittens hatch covered in so much fur that they look like clouds themselves. Since they’re practically lighter than air, the smallest gust of wind can send them whirling around like tumbleweeds; it’s a common sight to see a group of Felinimbi/Felistrati and Dusk Bunny hatchlings tumbling around the Keep’s halls, especially on windy days. One must keep an eye on them, lest they be blown away completely!Adult- Once reaching adulthood, Felinimbi/Felistrati set off on their own. Even when raised by magi, a Felinimbus/Felistratus will leave their homes and take to the skies. Much like their Etainian relatives, they are nomadic, and never stay in one place for long. However, those born in human settlements often come back to visit, and with them bring good weather. They are popular among farmers, who offer gifts to gain the favor of visiting Felinimbi/Felistrati and bribe them into bringing rain for their crops.General- Felinimbi and Felistrati are as powerful as they are beautiful. Their coats, soft and fluffy as a cloud, store and carry electricity, so much so that one can barely touch them without receiving a shock. They are incredibly light, and can travel on gusts of wind and stand on clouds. When angered, a lone Felinimbus/Felistratus can cause thunderstorms, while a group is capable of stirring up a hurricane. However, when in a good mood, one can bring light rain or dissipate storm clouds completely.NotesObtained from: BreedingBreeding: YesRenaming cost: 2000 goldBreeds with the following:Felinimbus + Felinimbus = FelinimbusFelistratus + Felistratus = FelistratusFelinimbus + Felistratus = FelinimbusFelinimbus + Felistratus = FelistratusObtained by breeding any of the following pairs:Etainian Stormcat + White Winged Cat (Felistratus) Etainian Stormcat + Black Winged Cat (Felinimbus) |
